Ph.D. Project Title: Pedigree analyses to uncover personalized biomarkers in Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis.
Rajesh Detroja has obtained M.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics and gained 2 years of NGS data analysis experience from Xcelris Genomics company, India.
In his Ph.D. research, he focuses on an in-silico pedigree analysis of families affected with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) to predict novel personalized molecular biomarkers that can provide an opportunity to improve the quality of life via early detection and timely treatment. A goal of his Ph.D. research is to perform a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) of families affected with RA and PsA and their bioinformatics analysis that will include the discovery of single–nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs), identification of structural variants (SV), chimeric genes and detection of microbiomes associated with the diseases, to reveal novel biomarkers which could be applied for future genetic personalized diagnostics and treatment.
