Ph.D. Project Title: Liquid biopsy on Alzheimer’s disease with an aim to identify blood-based biomarkers

Sunil Pachakar has M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) and B.Sc. (Biochemistry) from University of Mumbai. He joined as a Junior Research Fellow in 2016 at Clinician Scientist Lab under the guidance of Dr. Sudeep Gupta (Director, ACTREC), which is focused on translational research. With his bioinformatics background he worked on analyzing genomic data like whole exome, targeted and RNA sequencing data for research purposes utilizing several bioinformatics tools.
Recently Sunil joined as Ph.D. graduate student in Cancer Genomics and BioComputing of Complex Diseases Lab. His project deals on a liquid biopsy on Alzheimer’s disease with an aim to identify blood-based biomarkers which can be used for early detection of Alzheimer’s as well as different stages.

His research interest and areas of expertise: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, Bioinformatics, liquid biopsy, Statistics
